Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNO): Residents of Stadium Colony in Natipora, Srinagar, on Tuesday complained that they have been facing acute water scarcity for the past one week, causing severe inconvenience to them. Locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that despite repeated requests, the issue has not been resolved, forcing them to rely on alternative sources. “We have to fetch water from neighbouring localities every day. It is exhausting, especially for the elderly,” said Abdul Majid, a resident of the area. Another local, Shabnam Jan, said they have been facing this problem for days now. “Without water, our daily life is completely disrupted. We have approached the authorities at the PHE office and also lodged a complaint on their grievance helpline, but nothing has happened yet,” she said. When contacted, Public Health Engineering (PHE) officials said the water supply in the area was affected due to repairs of water reservoirs at a few locations. “The issue is being addressed and regular water supply to the area will be restored in two to three days,” an official said—(KNO)
